Geology of Yosemite in Relationship to SW Oregon

March 11 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

- $5

This presentation will explain how the geology of Yosemite—from its granite rock to its glacial erosion—has made it one of the most beautiful and popular U.S. National Parks. You may be surprised to learn that we can also use Yosemite to better understand the geologic setting of our local region in Oregon!

Presenter: Karen Grove

Karen Grove is a geologist with a Ph.D. from Stanford University. For 26 years she was a professor of geosciences at San Francisco State University, where she taught a wide variety of courses from introductory to graduate levels.
