Visit Jacksonville in the winter—Beginning with the weekend following Thanksgiving, Jacksonville transforms its historic downtown into a Victorian wonderland—a picture of its former glory come to life for the holidays. Businesses are draped in greenery and lights, Father Christmas sets up shop in the historic Beekman Bank, and our Holly Jolly Trolley chauffeurs visitors to the town’s highlights with historic narrative tours. Visitors come from all around to experience a genuine, small-town, old-fashioned Christmas tree lighting with carol singing. The following weekend hosts a Christmas parade down the main drag. Shopkeepers open their doors to offer a diverse selection of quality goods for selecting the perfect Christmas gifts. The Jacksonville Holiday Lights Tour is sure to be a delight, riding one of our festive trolleys, sipping hot chocolate, touring our beautiful neighborhoods and downtown.

After the excitement of Victorian Christmas, enjoy the peace and privacy Jacksonville affords during winter. Temperatures are mild. Snow is never far away for enjoying winter sports, though Jacksonville may receive an occasional dusting. A self-guided historical walking tour may be in order, without the crowds. Winter is also perfect for a quiet hike in the surrounding Jacksonville Woodlands. Book a solitary getaway in one of many historical inns and bed and breakfasts. Spoil yourself with a relaxing spa treatment, then cozy up with a hot drink and a good read.

  • Victorian Christmas Parade

    Saturday, December 6th at 10am along California Street.  This is our biggest event of the year so try to get here early!

  • Visit with Father Christmas

    FATHER CHRISTMAS is in Jacksonville! You can take family pictures with Father Christmas and enjoy musical entertainment as you stroll the streets doing your holiday shopping. (Weekends November 30 through December 21)

  • Holiday Trolley Lights Tours

    Take a ride on our decorated trolleys viewing beautiful Christmas lights in Jacksonville and singing Christmas carols! December 1st – December 31st.

  • Beekman House Victorian Christmas Tours

    Learn how holiday traditions have changed!  Every Saturday and Sunday from November 29 through December 21, you’re invited to experience how Christmas was celebrated during the late 1800s when you tour the 1873 C.C. Beekman House Museum, located at 470 E. California Street in Jacksonville, Oregon, and home to Jacksonville’s wealthiest pioneer family.
