Jacksonville in Spring
Jacksonville comes alive with warmer weather with beautiful flowers, trees and fresh air
Early spring sends a silent wake-up call as the warming sun coaxes wildflowers in the woodlands and causes activity to swell all over town. In May, Jacksonville is in full flower, with the popular narrated historical trolley rides through town. Outdoor seating at nearly every restaurant allows you to satisfy your taste buds, get a breath of fresh air and watch the people pass. Jacksonville makes for the perfect Mother’s Day outing.
For wine enthusiasts, Jacksonville sits within the heart of wine country, with several area wineries beckoning in town and from the picturesque Applegate Valley hills. In May, our Wine Trolley starts up to take you to our local wineries, a fun way to see our town and the beautiful outlying areas around Jacksonville.
Stop in the Visitor Center and pick up a self-guided map of historical homes and businesses so you can amble through Jacksonville history at your own pace. Take a hike up Cemetery Hill and enjoy the peace and quiet while strolling through historical grave markers and monuments of early pioneers.
In spring, you’ll want to linger, so choose one of our elegant and cozy lodging options and stay around for a while to soak up the hometown vibe.
We look forward to greeting you in spring.
