Sindy’s Pigeon Service
My husband, Steve Morgan, and I own a sanctuary for rescued, domesticated pigeons in Jacksonville. I also own a pigeon supply store that sells to the rescue and rehabilitation communities. All proceeds from my store go back into the rescue community, primarily to build aviaries for rescued, domesticated pigeons in need of homes. I have built 9 aviaries all over the country. Sindyspigeonservice.com is also experimenting with building dovecotes for feral pigeons. The goal is to ultimately sell the dovecotes to cities, so that what is now perceived as a pigeon problem; (remedied by spiking and poisoning) becomes an attraction. Pigeon populations could be controlled (swapping real eggs for fake ones) and people could feed pigeons in one location, where they would come for shelter, food and water.
Sindy's Pigeon Service also offers the following services: (1) Aviary tours; (2) Speaking engagements about pigeons: what are domesticated, rescued pigeons?; what is their history as man’s helpers; did you know that pigeons were once the darlings of the rich and famous?; do pigeons make the ideal pet, etc. (3) Summer camp visits; (4) School visits; (5) Bookstore displays; (6) Story time visits; (7) Pretty much any other event that involves education about pigeons! I have performed all of the services above and can provide references.
