Historic Landmark Town

Founded during the Gold Rush of 1851, Jacksonville is one of Oregon’s oldest communities. Originally known as Table Rock City, the town quickly became an agricultural and economic hub. However, when the railroad bypassed Jacksonville, it fell into a quiet period, which ironically preserved its historic charm.

In 1966, Jacksonville was designated a National Historic Landmark, recognized as an intact example of a late 1800s Western Gold-boom town. Today, our charming architecture and small-town appeal draw visitors seeking an authentic, historic experience.
